For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Honestly, who should we fear? The devil only has power to trick and taunt us but he was not allowed to touch the breath of life God gave Job. As long as I remain righteous and untainted by the world’s devices God will place a hedge of protection around me as well. But if I reject truth and live under the cloak of a lie, then the enemy has a right to trouble me. We cannot pick and choose what portion of the Word we will stand on and which one we will not. We need to take the whole roll and eat it. The bitter with the sweet. God never promised that every day will be great. The Word says, that this is the day that God has made, we must let it give us joy to praise Him in. Fear is not of God but reverence and awe is of God. The Old Testament word brings it out as fear because we know what God can do and we do not want to end up in the hands of an angry God. Fear cripples your faculties and causes you to either fight or flight. God is not about scaring you but He is about warning us before we end up under His microscope of chastisement. Thank God He gives us the opportunity to fix ourselves up according to His design and not unto the latest craze or favorite look of men. We are not in the image of men but in God’s cognitive image which is the likeness of God in mind, heart and passion. Fear makes you lie to the ones you love. So God would not give that as a weird gift. He gives power, love and a sound mind. You get fear from that fake father of lies who wants to adopt you only to abuse you. The enemy is not proud of his people he only cares that the job gets done. By lying and cheating our way through life only hurts the ones we love by being a menace to society. That’s what the father of lies is all about but, let me tell you something deep…He won’t get away with it!
