7yet the house of Israel will not be willing to listen to you, since they are not willing to listen to Me. Surely the whole house of Israel is stubborn and obstinate.

8“Behold, I have made your face as hard as their faces and your forehead as hard as their foreheads.

9“Like emery harder than flint I have made your forehead. Do not be afraid of them or be dismayed before them, though they are a rebellious house.”…

New American Standard Bible

How hard it is for the man/woman of God to reach the heart of the believer, because of the hardness upon the face.

As I think about this table of life that we all are sitting around.  We can see it either as a table full of strangers or we can look at it as a game of joy and laughter that is shared among friends.

What is the scope of our part here? Are we trying to win a big hand?

Poker Face

We are all at the table of life. We fight the work of the Prophets and the Preachers who are only assigned the message to give, because so many of us have gone off the rails of what we first believed and the Lord would save you before destruction comes.

No one can move us.

Even though we all have something to loose.  The cards are not always in our favor.  We sometimes get lucky, if we believe in it over our faith in the Lords provisions for our life.  We keep putting our trust in our ability to play this life our way, to put our bets down with expectations outside the scope of who we are. Especially, when we win some and loose some.  We do not all walk away winners, some of us loose big and it hurts who we are inside. We fail because of others who have what we want but it didnt fall into our hands first and we become jealous and envious of what the others are putting down that we didnt see working out for us.  Some are willing to give bigger collateral than you and I are willing to part with, for the thrill of the game, or the chance taking advanrage of some weakness they may perceive.

The Word is sharp and it means what it demands we become, what the Lord began in us through creation. God has sent the right Word of correction and direction for us to live our lives from, but we resist the speaker who brings the message. The Prophet not being wanted among his own and all.  The Word will not ask us to change.  It demands that we do so, if we want to meet the Lord in His coming.   Dont go numb to the truth, or deaf to hearing. Like a Dentist deadens your mouth so that you do not feel the pain associated with fixing what is broken. We can do the same thing by closing ourselves from hearing the truth spoken. The Word of truth is sharp coming in and going out.

I can see the purpose of not wanting to feel what the affects of it might do to the flesh mind.  It is only because we have grown accustomed to living out what our mind has conjured up.

Our poker faces can not stop the results of the truth.  It can only fool those who sit with you to play out the hand.  They must read what is on your face to determine if it is wise to keep playing the game with you.

The game is in the favor of the house though.  It is rigged to always allow the creators plan to supercede what our plans are.   We cant plan on the side of God and try to live it out according to our own hand picked set of cards.  The house will catch you if you try to add your own cards to the mix.  So, what is up your sleeve will not slide on this table of life.  You end up busted. If you can think, God never has to play a hand when all the winning and loosing is on the house.  Remember His Son paid it all for you.  He took the pain of loss from us if we just play it out, you come out on top.
