Gentle and Lowly

#02232017fle

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

ā€” Matthew 11:28-30 ESV

God is a giant.  He is great big and doesnt have time for the playground antics.  I call this earth our playground because it is where we have to react to everyone in it.  Some people do not play fair.  They cheat at everything because they hate loosing.  If I cheat at a game, it is because others arent paying attention and I want to get caught.  Also, I cheat obviously to make them laugh until they dont amd get serious.  After all, it is a game right?  He tells us to come unto Him, all of us who are over worked and feel like giving up.  But, if you aren’t paying attention.  He says trade with Him the work that He has to do, while He takes the troubles you cant work out on your own.  Our stuff causes us to sin and fall into sorrows.  His things bring peace and strength.  It is still a yoke that binds you to a particular thing to do with your life.  You just have to be willing to trade it off. Christ’s  burdens technically are lighter and simpler.  We work and sweat and toil complaining every step of the way.  Christ is asking us do we want to be a witness for Him instead?  Its lighter and easier to be a witness for Jesus.  No complaints when your yoked to love and righteousness.  Those who enjoy the labor free stress zone that is in Christ,  we donot allow others problems to infiltrate our Spirit.  Some people can be good counselors because they can let it beed up and roll off.  Others are not so good at it, because they take on the symptoms of the one they are counseling and end up doubled in depression.  Learn to trade the burdens with the Savior, because it is light and easy to walk in Him and not in self.

We humble ourselves in prayer, because we realize we are not truly carrying the full brunt of the stress.   He says trade it with Him, but He also will not put to much on us that we cannot take.  But, come on brother/sister. Isnt there something you can bare?
