Blow It Up

I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you. This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

— II Timothy 1:5-7 NLT

Recall your Spirit’s awakening.  When the man/woman of God first empowered you by laying on of hands.  To call forth the Spirit awakening with in us all.  Paul transferred an energy to a young sleeping leader, and this enlightens him to action.  My Grandmother Elnora N Scott started her ministry and it included her children and grandchildren, so I am aware of Timothy’s plight as a young leader under his teachers  training to be a Pastor or Shepherd to a congregation.  It is hard enough for Pastors trying to lead the congregation down the stretch, let alone, doing it with fear of failure in the for front of your mind as you go.  Paul tells him to make sure he fans the flames.  That is rekindle the passion for people and ministry ultimately, sparking a Spiritual awakening within ones self.  There should be an excitement, and heated compassion from the heart towards the work God has asigned for you and I.  We can not inspire others if we are worn down and tired of our task.  We cannot be full of anger and fear because of what we might be missing.  A ministry in need of a musician, only needa to find the funds to pay a musician weekly or buy tracks from online to have for the congregation to sing along until one rises up to the cause of Church musician.  You utilize what you have at your disposal, until God increases your boundaries to stretch beyond the borders in which you began.  I could imagine little Timothy siting in Church with a few from the community that his Grandmother and Mother invited to join in and worship the name of the Lord together.  Ministy is about togetherness, and being on one accord sharing the responsibility of bringing the community together.  We work at building a family ministry, not just Church as usual.  A place where we enjoy being together and the stress is not left upon one person to do a majority of things to keep the doors open.   We owe one another to work on the same mindset, in the Spirit of Holiness.  The Word here says that the Lord hasnt given a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind.

The Apostle reminds his student to set a blaze the ministry with Spirit, not flesh flashes of brilliance.   I know we have star quality in our congregations today, which cause others to look up at people with famous admiration.   Christ is the one who should shine above men and among the congregation.  He is the light that should shine to the affect of admiration and honor.  We are a reflection of His light.  We are not the main focus, but the side note to the main subject of salvation and faith ib Christ Jesus.  Start the fire saints.  Buikd a bonfire, a flame that cab be seen for mikes and miles.  Let people hear of the fame if the worship and true Wird spoken among the believers in your congregations.  The leadership should place importance on the name of the Lord and not Dr so and so or who ever is highest in position based upon a particular calling.  It is terrible that people lift men high above their station.  No, there should always be respect to the point the people understand that the man or woman of God are shepherd  under the Lord Christ who is our head Shepherd and the Chief corner stone of the foundation ministry is laid upon.   Blow something up for Christ.  That is, set a big blaze and place the name of the Lord on it that others may see and glorify the name of the Lord for ever.
