BREAK EVER CHAIN

Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!

— Acts 16:25-26 NLT

God will set you free from what binds you.  In this story, the man of God and his brother in the Gospel found themselves being kept in prison for preaching the truth of Jesus Christ.  How many times in your life have you felt imprisoned by people who seem to lick you into a particular group nit knowing who you truly are? Even though this is a real situation dealing with persecutions of that era.  We have to deal with simular concepts of what we are about in our efforts to reach many in the name of Jesus Christ.  It is unfair it sees that many can share their version of faith that may not necessarily be the true representation of the Son of the Living God.  Yet, those people can share their story and testimony if some type of salvation.  Only for us to find out that all they are sharing is transcending meditations or false belief, but they are not hindered as we are.  This Scripture is here to show us that God has not left us out here to just fight for ourselves,  but that His Holy Spirit is with us if we call on Him.  We have to be in the Spirit to reach the Spirit.  Sitting behind bars is no laughing matter.  It is not a place to gain notoriety from the street.  When you in that situation, you are alone and cold, isolated from all who love you, and fesr sets in.  The Apostles didnt allow their flesh to succumb to this melodrama,  they begin to pray and sing songs of faih.  You have to stir up the power of God around you and be lifted up through the Spirit. In my own case.  I had gotten put away for a domestic violence act.  When I was placed behind bars, I immediately begin to apologize to the Lord for my actions, and what was supposd to be a 6 month deal, ended in 20 days.  I told the Lord, never again will I allow that anger to flow through me towards another human being.  I say this to us, because a lot of us may have never seen the inside of a jail cell.  Rest your thoughts in knowing that persecution come on every hand.  It is not always brick and mortar that you have to pray earnestly through.  Sometimes its your own little 5 by 5 prison.  Maybe even something that you have set up yourself because of fear and anger or even doubt.  Take a page out the book and begin to live the life of one completely sold out.  Let the Lord break you oit of that infinite shall that keeps reforming around you through emotional ties.  Let Him show you how to pray your way free.  Then you will fel the rumbling under your feet and the cjains that once held you to a particular place and time, drop fron your life.

Dont get me wrong.  What ever I had done that deserves punishment, I will stand up and take as I should.  But, what is done to us out of spight for our trust in God.  Its not my battle, and niether is it yours.
