They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the LORD guards the city,
The watchman stays awake in vain.
It is vain for you to rise up early,
To sit up late,
To eat the bread of sorrows;
For so He gives His beloved sleep.
If God doesn’t do it for for you. It really isn’t done right. So, I think we better make sure that the Lord builds upon this house and not just our input. When it is left to men, we end up with a beautiful buiding, but no true membership to maintain it. Otherwise, we have a church full, but no Holy Spirit involved. Todays churches are huge and the congregations stumble over themselves getting in and out of the parking lot. Yet, I wonder, how many know their Sr Pastor well enough to stop by his/her home and visit unannounced? Not only that. But, when a death or wedding occurs. Who does the ceremonies? I understand that we do have these MEGA churches, but is there a MEGA GOD, in the building? Unless God builds a house He wants, it wont be His to control. He must be in full charge of the leadership, not the people. God has to be able to tell us where we will sit and how we conduct ourselves in His presence. If God be for us. Something we all say when we feel like we are being attacked for nothing. Lets look at the house of God on earth and ask the question. Is it like unto the blue prints if Heavens Temple that He gave Moses? NO. It is no where close. We have substituted the outer courrs with small sitting cafes and coat rooms for valet parking etc. The people are at awe of the decoratives and the money well spent for crisp edges and unisex bathrooms. But, no place for the Holy Spirit in the Holy of Holies.
The priest still wear their garb. But, it is for showmanship and not in reverence to God the Shepherd. Christ didnt change the Synagogue. He changed the people inside. He didnt need to fix what God designed. He needed to fix what man broke. Unless God has built the house according to His own purpose and His design. There will be nothing.
