Dont Test The Lord.

So once more the people complained against Moses. “Give us water to drink!” they demanded.

“Quiet!” Moses replied. “Why are you complaining against me? And why are you testing the LORD?”

— Exodus 17:2 NLT

Don’t be the one to test God and fail.

I think at times we donot see that we push the envelope in our walk with God.  We tend to do what is best for us and just turn our eyes to Him when we do wrong.   God forgives us of all our sins.  We must be obedient to His Word and walk upright.  The people of Israel complained to Moses about the need for water.  Moses had gotten upset with them because they weren’t satisfied with what the Lord supplied.  It is difficult for the preacher to lead people who are always complaining were the Lord leads the church and body of Christ.  People must realize that their souls are in the hands of those leaders that they seem to give trouble too.  I know that the final one who has say so in our Eternal living is the Lord.  We need to be aware that He has placed those people in charge of ministering to the people, and the consequences are doubled and tripled upon the man / woman of God.  So, as a man of the cloth for so many years, please have mercy upon us who are pressed into the cleft of Gods Glory.  I felt sorry for Moses, but I understood what he was saying, even though I dont agree with how he carried out the instructions.  We must be careful in our duties to the service of God and His children, not to walk in any power of our own, but to serve humbly and with gladness of heart that God would choose us to be His messenger and servant.

This not difficult to understood.  The main thing I want us to get from this is that we are thirsty and need to be nurished.  The people are thirsty and need to have a drink.  They need Christ to refill their emptiness.  The man and woman of God have the power given to them to feed the people the true and life sustaining water that comes from the Lord.  The Word says that all we have to do is drink the water of life that comes from Jesus through His Spirit.
