A Father Can Be Proud

The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

– Zephaniah 3:17 ESV

A father has a right to be proud of his child.  If we are accomplishing the set goals that our Father in Heaven has assigned for us why wouldn’t the Lord be happy with us?  He can gloat over you like He did with many in the Word of the Lord.  When the Lord knows He has a son/daughter who will be dynamic in their faith for Him, He puts you on display for others to see.  The display is for those who need encouragement.  It is also for those who think they are the ones bringing themselves to full circles in life though it is the Lord’s doing alone.  God doesn’t want you in an uproar because people are frustrated about their lives.  Let the peace of God surpass all understanding.   I sometimes say, ‘let the peace of God surpass all misunderstandings’ because we always seem to get it all wrong and run with our version.  Nothing anyone else says or does should uproot you so bad that you cannot find comfort in God.  Let Him rejoice over you.  He can give you sunshine that illuminates your path when everyone else is frantic and panicky about whatever they are dealing with.  It will soon be joy over sadness and strength over weakness.  The Lord be praised forever for His love and kindness.  Who can make up His mind for Him?  No one.  He already planned it out before you were born.  Just get ready to walk in His marked path for your life and you will be fine.

Ordained Elder, Husband, and Father.
